Hello! I’m a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Political Analysis track of Harvard University’s PhD Program in Health Policy.
My research examines how the design and implementation of health insurance programs shape both coverage and access outcomes, and people’s experiences with government. I’m particularly interested in how those experiences, in turn, shape political attitudes and behavior. Most of my work focuses on the Medicaid and Medicare programs, as well as the Affordable Care Act’s Marketplaces. I use large administrative and survey datasets alongside quasi-experimental methods to study these questions.
I’m also interested in teaching and in helping students connect questions about health policy and politics to broader questions about institutions, power, and inequality.
I’m currently a Fellow at the Economic Security Project. Before graduate school, I worked as a Program Assistant for Health Care Coverage and Access at the Commonwealth Fund and as a Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Legislation at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services during the summer of 2022.
I have a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School (2023), and a BS in Public Health through the Department of Health Policy and Management from UNC-Chapel Hill (2019).
I’m originally from Houston, Texas, and currently live in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
